A Winter Holiday Programme
This winter school holiday, Iziko Museums of South Africa and Zip Zap Circus are joining forces to bring the thrill of the circus right into the heart of Cape Town!
Flip, Fly & Flourish: Tumbling Workshop 2025 is a vibrant and interactive experience designed specifically for kids and youth. Whether your child dreams of joining the circus or wants to try something exciting and new, this workshop is the perfect way to learn, play, and grow, all in one unforgettable experience.
Date: Starting 14 July 2025
Daily sessions: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Venue: Iziko South African Museum, Queen Victoria Street, Gardens, Cape Town

What’s it all about?
This isn’t your average workshop. It’s a chance for young people to flip, fly, and flourish in the safe hands of Zip Zap’s experienced circus coaches. We’ll be taking kids on a playful adventure through:
Juggling
A fantastic way to build concentration and coordination. Kids learn to stay focused, be patient, and celebrate small wins along the way.
Wire-Walking
This activity challenges balance and core control, while helping children develop confidence one step at a time.
Mini-Trampolining
Jumping on the mini-trampoline helps improve strength, body awareness, and gives kids a joyful burst of energy.
Acrobatics
Beginner acrobatics are introduced in a playful way to help kids improve posture, flexibility, and movement skills — all while having fun.
Why We’re Doing This
This partnership between Iziko and Zip Zap was born from a shared belief: that education and joy should go hand in hand. Iziko has long been a space where history, science, and culture come to life. Zip Zap brings decades of experience using circus arts to empower, uplift, and unite. Together, we’re inviting kids from all backgrounds to try something different – and maybe discover a hidden talent or passion along the way.
No previous experience is needed. All children are welcome.
